Kemono no Souja Erin takes place in a pseudo-medieval fantasy world where the kingdom of Ryoza is divided into the peaceful region of Shinou and the outer province of Taikou, which guards the borders of the land. The world in which the story takes place is vast in scope and rich in details and history. It is a very comfortable show to watch and it is easy to empathize with the struggles Erin faces while growing up, which lends to a greater attachment to her as a character. On the other hand, the anime brings me back to a less complicated time in my life, when the world didn't seem quite as stressful or as scary as it does now. ![]() There is no sexualized fanservice to speak of the violence depicted in the show is very stylized and disguises the deaths in the show some of the humor in the show is very childish and may turn some viewers off (fart jokes here and there.). This can be a postive or a negative trait of the show, depending on your perspective. The main reason for why I feel this way is that the show feels more intended for children than for older, more experienced viewers. ![]() ![]() Kemono no Souja Erin is unlike any other series I have seen so far.
